🔴 MP SLAMS ‘PITIFUL’ SENTENCE FOR ABUSER OF GIRL, 11

A senior politician has demanded a review of the "pitiful" jail term handed to a Manchester paedophile who subjected a vulnerable girl to years of sexual abuse starting when she was just 11 years old.
Hasnain Ahmed, 25 (DOB: 22/08/2000), of Blakey Street, Levenshulme, appeared at Manchester Crown Court on Monday, 5 January 2026, where he was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison.
The sentence has sparked immediate outrage, with Shadow Lord Chancellor Robert Jenrick confirming he has written to the Attorney General to have the case reviewed under the Unduly Lenient Sentence scheme:
"You took my childhood"
The court heard that Ahmed, who was 17 at the time the offences began, targeted the girl between 2016 and 2018. Prosecutors detailed how he repeatedly coerced the child into sexual acts without her consent in a pattern of "escalating abuse" that lasted two years.
In a harrowing victim impact statement read to the court, the young woman—who bravely reported the crimes in April 2021—confronted her abuser directly.
"This abuse changed the course of my entire life. What should have been years of innocence, safety and growth were instead filled with fear, shame and confusion," she said.
Addressing Ahmed, she continued: "I want you to understand that your actions did not end when the abuse stopped—they continue to affect me every single day, shaping my future in ways I never chose. You took my childhood, my trust, and half of my youth, and I will carry the consequences of your crime for the rest of my life."
Guilty Verdicts
Ahmed was found guilty by a jury in November 2025 of four counts of sexual assault of a child under 13 by touching, one count of sexual assault of a child under 13 by penetration, and two counts of causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity.
Alongside the custodial sentence, Ahmed was issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and a restraining order against the victim, both valid for ten years.
Detective Constable Sarah Dixon, of Greater Manchester Police’s Online Child Abuse Investigation Team, praised the survivor's resilience.
