Drugs Gang Jailed for 77 Years After Sparkhill Machete Attack Exposed Massive Class A Operation
A dangerous Birmingham drugs gang has been jailed for a combined total of more than 77 years following a major investigation by West Midlands Police.
The nine men were convicted of conspiracy to supply heroin and cocaine after a 13-week trial at Birmingham Crown Court. The case began after a brutal machete attack at a drug prep house on Oakwood Road, Sparkhill, where a rival group armed with a shotgun and blades stormed the property.
Detectives launched an extensive investigation, recovering over 8kg of heroin and 1kg of crack cocaine hidden in Sparkhill Park, along with drug paraphernalia from the Oakwood Road address. The drugs had a street value that would have soared after cutting and distribution.
CCTV, mobile phone analysis, and witness reports led to early morning raids and the dismantling of a gang that ran at least six major drug lines across Birmingham.

“This gang was dealing in the human misery of Class A drugs, exploiting vulnerable people and fuelling violence across our communities. These sentences should serve as a strong warning – we are coming for those who profit from this trade.”
